EUTAW: The TS Police Support League, Inc. (www.greenecountylawenforcement.org) presented a $10,000.00 check to the Black Belt Community Foundation to provide matching funds for a Storm Shelter grant project in the City of Eutaw. When complete, the new shelter will provide area families with a safe place to gather in the event of severe weather. TS Police Support League President Sheila Smith said, “Springtime in West Alabama reminds us that tornados are a serious and recurring threat to our region. We are proud to be able to assist this worthy project come to fruition.” TS Police Support League Secretary/ Treasurer Billy McFarland said, “Electronic Bingo funds from Alabama Constitutional Amendment 743 enable important donations like these to continue. Without the opportunity granted us by Sheriff Jonathan “Joe” Benison, this donation would not be possible.”
