EUTAW: TS Police Support League, Inc. (www.greenecountylawenforcement.org) donated $10,000.00 to the Greene County Emergency Medical Service today in an ongoing partnership to make certain that ambulance service will continue to be available 24/7 to the citizens of Greene County. TSPSLI President Sheila Smith, joined by Sheriff Jonathan “Joe” Benison, presented the check to Greene County EMS Board member Dr. Marcia Pugh. President Smith noted, “This is the third time that the League has provided major support for the ambulance service, and we are happy to do so again in order to make certain that this service, and the Greene County Hospital, continue to thrive.” TSPSLI Secretary/ Treasurer J. W. McFarland said, “We only wish that we could contribute more, but we are having to spend thousands of dollars in Montgomery fighting the Indian monopoly gaming bill which Senator Bobby Singleton and Representative A. J. McCampbell are supporting. If this bill passes, Amendment 743 electronic bingo in Greene County will be abolished and existing facilities will be forced to close.”
