EUTAW: On Tuesday, May 3, TS Police Support League presented a check in the amount of $36,000.00 to pay for the construction of a new pavilion to serve the residents of the Eutaw Elderly Village. This long-needed amenity will allow residents to enjoy the outside during the summer while providing a shady place to rest. The pavilion project was named in memory of deceased Greene County Resident Eloise Brown, who recently passed away. Ms. Brown was known as a devout Christian and astute businesswoman. “Constitutional Amendment 743 specifically, and electronic charity bingo generally, are under attack in Montgomery. Without it, gifts like this will stop. Does anyone really think the Poarch Creek Indians will bridge the gap for Greene County?” asked J. William McFarland, Jr., TS Police Support League Secretary/ Treasurer. “Sheriff Jonathan ‘Joe’ Benison afforded the TSPSLI this opportunity to give back. Without his support, none of these donations would be possible,” said TS Police Support League President Sheila Smith.
