EUTAW: TS Police Support League (www.greencountylawenforcement.org) has doubled the size of its annual summer youth jobs program from 50 to 100 effective immediately, stated President Sheila H. Smith. “With the economy slowing and the need for summer jobs in business, government, and other sectors for youth skyrocketing, we are pleased to make this additional investment in our local students.” The program will employ 50 students in June and another 50 in July, and will include both private and public sector employers who are participating in the program. TS Police Support League Secretary/ Treasurer J. W. McFarland said, “Thanks to Sheriff Jonathan ‘Joe’ Benison; without his support and that of electronic bingo, this expansion would not be happening. We also thank every employer that is once again choosing to participate in this important program for our youth.” TS Police Support League is proud to announce that the Hon. LaJeffery Carpenter will once again serve as program manager; job applications and W-9s are available from him.
