MONTGOMERY: TS Police Support League President Sheila Smith presented a check for $1000.00 to the Alabama State Trooper Association, marking the third consecutive year of sponsorship. This gift will be used towards underwriting the cost of life insurance for every Alabama State Trooper, along with other outreach programs such as teddy bears for injured kids at Christmas. Smith said, “We are honored to continue this partnership and collaboration with the ASTA.” League Secretary-Treasurer Billy McFarland said, “We must work to save Alabama Constitutional Amendment 743, which makes these gifts possible through the electronic bingo license granted us by Greene County Sheriff Joe Benison.”
